Dr. Hurt has spent 26 years practicing dentistry in the North County of San Diego. He has extensive experience in most areas of treatment including cosmetic dentistry, laser whitening, laser surgery, implants, root canal therapy, treatment of periodontal disease, crown and bridge work, dentures and surgery for simple and more complicated extractions such as wisdom teeth. His training allows us to provide treatment for almost any dental emergency and our use of conscious sedation techniques allows us to put those patients who “fear dentistry” at ease prior to and during their visit.
Dr. Hurt has three sons, two in college and the third attending La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad. They enjoy sports, especially the ocean. They’re all certified Lifeguards with Professional CPR/AED certifications and Certified SCUBA divers as well.
Although born in Iowa, Dr. Hurt has lived in most areas of the United States because his dad was a pilot in the Air Force and an Instructor for United Air Lines. This gives Dr. Hurt the unique opportunity of relating to his patients… wherever they’re from. We also have a very “international” staff that speak Spanish, Farsi, Turkish, Russian, as well as English… so communication barriers are rarely an issue.
