Afsaneh (Amy) Ighani , M.D. was reared in Lubbock, TX and received her medical training at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed her residency at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Dr. Ighani joined Dallas Medical Specialists in July 2004.
“I strive to provide high quality patient care to each patient. I have special interest in women's healthcare and preventive care. I hope to motivate individuals to take control of their health by modifying their lifestyle and habits”, said Dr. Ighani.
Dr. Ighani grew up in an environment in which medicine was a focal point for the entire family. Her father is a retired dentist and her mother a nurse. She has two brothers, one an anesthesiologist and the other an ophthalmology resident.
In her spare time, Dr. Ighani enjoys reading, attending theatrical productions, cooking and playing volleyball.

This is such an efficient and well-run office. I have never waited more than a few minutes before being seen by the doctor or nurse. Of course, Dr. Ighani is wonderful: smart, practical with great people skills.
It would be difficult to find a more caring and helpful medical professional in all of Dallas.
She is very nice and isn't in a hurry, but seems distracted and not focused on my issues.
