Dr. Sharma is board certified in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She received her medical education from Rohtak Medical College in India and completed her three-year pediatric residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She is an Attending Staff Doctor at Children's Hospital of Orange County, Hoag Memorial Hospital, Newport Beach and Irvine, and Saddleback Memorial Hospital. She has been in solo practice since 1988 when the first Irvine Regional Hospital was built. Dr. Sharma was active in attending and assisting the delivery of newborns requiring resuscitation and has continued to follow many of those newborns through the years. Along with her practice, volunteering has been a big part of her medical career. Locally, she has been a mentor to the school nurses of the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) for the last fifteen years and now she is also a part of the Medical Advisory Board for IUSD. Parenting has been an integral part of the last two decades of Dr. Sharma's practice. She has two grown children who have graduated from the Irvine School District.
Dr. Sharma also takes a keen interest in global childrens' health and has volunteered in countries including Kenya, Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil, India, and Armenia.
While Dr. Sharma seemed to be knowledgeable, her medical assistant seemed extremely inexperienced. He allowed fluid from the shots to dribble everywhere, couldn't take accurate measurements for height and head circumference, and took more than 15 minutes just to give me the percentiles.
Very helpful and caring about our daughter's condition.
My daughter is a new patient and we were greeted right away. Even though we initially had problems with our new insurance card they were professional, patient and very helpful!
