Dr. Savage was fast, direct, and to the point. I went in for an order for tests and got the order I needed.

Very knowledge-able doctor, gave me the right medicine and know of my symptoms right away. That's all you really need, right?

Super smart and personable. Highly recommend.

I just saw this doctor for the first time this morning since he was the only physician available on a Sunday, and I'm so glad I did! No wait time, very thorough with his explanations of things, and recommended a combination of treatments to help my condition both immediately and going forward for the next few months. I highly recommend him.

I chose Dr. Savage as my Primary Care Physician because of the good ratings on ZocDoc. My initial appointment was okay, please note that the office seems to be aimed at traveler's, which means on call 24hrs, very speedy, etc., but not in a bad way, in an efficient way. He's very real, kind, and easy to work with, I was in and out with my referral in under 20 mins, I would not recommend if you're looking for drawn out, slow paced intimate care. But if you don't need a doctor very often and live/work downtown and are typically short on time (I meet all those) I would recommend him.

Although I was pretty annoyed when Dr. Savage finally saw me 40 minutes after my schedule appointment time, his charming bedside manner disarmed me. He was very nice, gave me some pointers that I haven't heard before. I left in a very positive mood.

Dr. Savage is probably my favorite doctor ever. If I lived in SF, I would go to him exclusively, and more than that, he is great because he is always available for people who are travelling. This was a better experience than most I have had with a Dr. who actually knows me, and I have asthma which makes everything more complicated. Two thumbs up!!

He practices western medicine, but certainly emphasizes an Eastern approach: his philosophy is that the body is ill when warding off infection so take steps to minimize the chances for infection and do regular bodily checks/tricks to minimize your responses to infection. He knows his stuff. Also, likes to rant. Friendly.

Dr Savage is a great doctor, friendly and very knowledgeable. He does not stop his practice to just checking your metrics, he gives easy-to-implement advice which is adapted to your lifestyle. He is interested in his patient and his patient's life and keeps a good sense of humor. You can sense that he keeps learning and training in his field as well. It makes a visit to your Doctor simply interesting.

Dr. Savage is fantastic! He was able to diagnose me quickly and explain what was going on in my body using analogies and pictures. It was great to finally have a doctor explain in detail what caused my symptoms rather than just tell me what I had and what pills I needed to take.

Dr. Savage always makes a point of teaching me about whatever ailments I have so that I can prevent them in the future.

Dr. Savage is always friendly and educates you during your visit. He never rushes you, even though there is a room full of people waiting - your time with him is yours! He has a newly renovated office - looks great and welcoming. No longer taking my insurance - so unfortunately I am back in the hunt for a new doctor - that sucks.

He can be a bit abrupt; he doesn't come off like a normal physician, using slang and some cruder language. But it was in an attempt to build some rapport, which was appreciated.

Dr Savage is great. He has a great attitude, is very knowledgeable, and can explain everything to you in terms you understand. Very satisfactory doctor visit.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Savage. He's one of the few PCPs in a major city who genuinely cares about his patients. He's not in a rush to kick you out the door, and provides a lot of valuable advice across all areas of living. Also, he's hilarious.

Dr. Savage is awesome! He got me in same day on a Saturday to deal with a virus I contracted traveling. He's really good at explaining why he is prescribing certain medicines and his bedside manner is great. Thanks to him I'm on the road to recovery!

I'm 29 years old. Like a lot of other people my age, I haven't regularly visited doctors sin years. Not only did he give me tons of fantastic advice about the particular reason I went to see him, he gave me tons of other advice as well. In general my health has improved because of him. Great doctor! Just moved to SF and established Dr. Savage as my primary care physician. He came off as very competent and knowledgeable (very good instructor). He was also very personable. Nothing negative to say. Staff was very friendly and wait was minimal - I was called just as I completed my paperwork. As a side, his lobby is full of pictures of him with various celebrities (particularly actors) in his office, which was kind of cool.

Dr.Savage was amazing. He actually talked to me, unlike other doctors I have seen. He made eye contact, asked questions, and actually listened. He was very thorough when explaining anything and made sure I understood. I plan on seeing him again when needed.

Even though I was probably his 10,000th patient w/a sinus infection, he took the time to explain the problem and treatment options in detail!

Coolest doctor I've ever had!

Dr. Jim Savage is a great doctor who gives you 'straight talk' and treats you like a personal friend. He recommended several preventative methods to reduce my dependency on medication and answered my questions thoroughly without being condescending like many doctors can be. I felt like he was genuinely concerned with my health and well being. He has a great sense of humor as well and I left with a smile on my face. Highly recommended!

He moves a lot of patients quickly (as he typically works with last minute appointments from people traveling to SF) -- but surprisingly that doesn't negatively affect his practice. He saw me immediately, got right down to brass tacks, TAUGHT me things I have never known about diagnosis of simple congestion -- and showed me a technique I had never heard of for keeping clear. And showed me how one sickness can turn into many very logically. I was out in 20 minutes, but felt I had gotten a lot out of that time. He also gave me his card saying to call personally if I had questions. Very efficient, but very effective. I made it back to work only 7 minutes late for a meeting I thought I would completely miss by at least an hour :)

He really took the time to make sure I understood why I was sick and what I can do to prevent the same thing from happening in the future. Super friendly too. A doctor I feel I can trust. Thanks, Dr. Savage!

One of the better experiences I've had with a doctor, who took the time to explain what was wrong with me, why, and how to get better, instead of just writing a quick scrip and sending me out the door. I wish every doctor was as thorough and humane as Dr. Savage.

he got right to the point of diagnosising me, did a quick minor test, the gave me a shot, a little bag of follow up meds right there on the spot, and sent me on my way with a game plan to tackle my issue, and a good feeling of it being resloved.

If you need candy coating from your doctor, this is not the guy. What you get with Dr. Savage is a very intelligent, efficient, and no nonsense professional who pinpointed and diagnosed my issue precisely and was able to guide me to the remedy as well as teaching me how to avoid the same issues in the future. A perfect doctor for busy professionals! He lets the patient lead the discussion and actively listens to focus on what are the patient's main concerns before running the standard physical tests. He tells it like it is, but always with encouraging suggestions for improvement. Most people can stand to be in a little bit better shape, right? His efficient style allows for a flexible schedule which means he'll be free when you need him, because you can't plan ahead for when a medical issue will pop up. So delightful to find a doctor truly focused on the patient's needs and wants!
